One Down!

Well, here I am in Vienna - a bit dopey from my graduation evening at Transart (yay)- next stop Ankara, then Izmir, then Cesme, then the beautiful ferry ride - then I should be happily reunited with the fam in Chios where good developments are afoot. My time in Linz was just a ton of fun. Great people. Will miss them. More soon, Travellin' Peg.

It would be safe to say that we are about to start one of the great adventures of our lives. And with a few good graces from the forces that be - we will be sharing truly memorable events with old and new friends. Kathryn and Laura have gone beyond the call of duty to make this possible for everyone. An INCREDIBLE effort! All the Best!

We are flying to Greece tonight!

Turkish Air tonight, June the 7th, 2007 is our airline taking Laura and Kathryn Hohlwein to Ismir, Turkey, via Istanbul, where, alas , we cannot stay even for its famous view. We stay overnight in the seaport village of Cesme, Turkey, 90 km. from the large old town of Ismir. Monday evening we will take the ferry over to Chios island, where I will stay for about 5-6 weeks.

With the help of Chians, who do indeed speak Greek, I trust that the gods or the favorable winds will see me settled into Villa St George, a house generously offered to our use by Nick Pries, if I can succeed in getting to the correct village -- St. George (...of the figs...?).

Please wish us all luck with our amazing adventure, as we attempt to bring Homer to his home!
